Assorted bits of professional work.

After working with an in-house agency for a financial company for several years, I learned the ins and outs of creative briefs (summary, target audience, client ask, company response, client metrics, etc.) and got to share my own ideas and copy to fit inside that creative dream. Here are just a few examples of my own contributions to different projects over the years.

Different projects, different endgames.

The company wanted to highlight that they're more than just a financial institution meant for the bigwigs. So to better emphasize their disaster relief fund, we made sure the first copy a client saw on the page was human, encouraging, and actionable.

Not everyone knows the month of May is Military Appreciation Month, but the client wanted a message of gratitude and recognition that would be seen by people of all demographics. This led to a social media post focused on the families and friends of those in the military, to let them know they aren't forgotten.

Every day we step into a new (and often unpredictable) world of finance, which requires innovation and messaging that appeals to audiences of all kinds. The client wanted to introduce a way to engage those less interested in how they invested in the market, opting much more for the what they choose to support. With that, we came up with bundles of likeminded stocks with straightforward and accurate descriptions.

Disaster relief banner.

For the disaster relief landing page banner, the client wanted a hook of a header, humanized body copy, a relatable and touching image, and an actionable CTA. Here's an example of what we provided for final selection:

Headline:

Stay updated about global disasters and what you can do to help.

Body copy:

Heartbreaking tragedies affect thousands of people every year, from devastating storms and earthquakes to wildfires and mudslides. Survivors are often left in dire need of food, emergency shelter, clean water, electricity, and access to critical medical care. We're now working with the Center for Disaster Philanthropy to provide our generous donors with a convenient way to reach out a helping hand in support.

CTA [Button]:

Find Out How You Can Help

#MilitaryAppreciationMonth

Sometimes it can feel like every month is dedicated to multiple causes, ideologies, holidays, seasons, and more; however, the client wanted specifically to highlight May as being Military Appreciation Month with a social media post, emphasizing the importance of those who serve. Here are three example posts with different focuses:

1. Military Families

The commitment of one is the commitment of many when it comes to the military. Here's to the families and friends who step up when our service members deploy. #MilitaryAppreciationMonth

2. Be Active

We can do more than say "thank you" to our armed forces. This #MilitaryAppreciationMonth, volunteer, donate to a charity, or visit a vet—it's our turn to show up for them.

3. Learn More

We all appreciate our troops, but do we appreciate what they've experienced? This #MilitaryAppreciationMonth, watch a documentary or visit a military museum to see what it truly means to serve.

Themed investment descriptions.

Something just clicks when things go together—which is definitely not just something I learned from the final song in Grease. With that idea in mind, we came up with dozens of stock groupings that support the same or similar ideologies: clean energy, blockchain, medical technology, all the way to the concept of going out to eat. Here are a few of said groupings and their descriptions, built in tandem by myself and a fellow writer:

Discount and Luxury Lifestyles

The companies in this theme address consumers at the two ends of the wealth spectrum: discount retailers at one end, and luxury product and services providers at the other.

Medical Technology

This theme's companies focus on technological innovations in medicine—medical equipment such as surgical robots, consumer health devices like blood glucose monitors, and more.

Online Gaming

The companies in this theme—including hardware developers, game publishers, and streaming platforms—produce online video games or related products.
