A little more about
Laura Cripe.
After that rather nontraditional portfolio setup, you've made it to this page—I hope you enjoy!

Who I am.
While I've been writing dang near since I could talk, I got my first taste of written satisfaction when I won the silver medal for Creative Writing in UIL at age eight. (Tell me you're a nerd without saying you're a nerd.) I continued reading, writing, and editing to an almost obsessive degree after that: prose and poetry for school events, work emails for my dad, fictional tales of guardian fairies for my cousins and sister—you know, the usual.

After graduating UT Austin in 2015 with BAs in Psychology and English, I found that it wasn't just friends and family who could use my skills. Since then I've worked in the fields of psychology, legal, finance, technology, education, and more for the last 10 years. Obviously during my free time I'm still reading, writing, editing, singing, and collecting all things Halloween.
Who I want to be.
Now that I have a decade of being a professional creative, I want to continue my journey. I graduated with two career focuses in mind: be creative and help people. I've been lucky enough to see those come true so far, but after so many years of work I can't use in a portfolio, I figured it was time to show some of my skills off.

I want to continue writing in a way that's relatable for specific audiences. I want to keep editing existing materials so it's accessible for all readers. I want to see the success of a company I'm part of and the colleagues I work with while also progressing in my own career. I want to be able to say "I was a part of that" without having to follow that with "Trust me, it's just not part of my portfolio because it's company IP."

And one day I want to Halloween in a city I've never visited before.
